WHAT IS THE GALA?

The Friends of Burr annual Spring Gala is our biggest fundraiser of the year! It’s also a big party where our community of parents, teachers, administration, and community partners can come together and have a good time.

In 2025 we will be in a new venue, The Green! Book your sitter now and get ready for a night filled with silent auctions, raffles, contests, and more. DJ Adam will be providing some hip jams to boogie to and the live auction will be something you won't want to miss.

Your ticket purchase includes entry to the event and a wristband for unlimited drinks from 7:00-10:00 pm. After 10 pm it will be a cash bar. And you will be able to snack on yummy food provided by The Green.

This year’s theme is the 1920’s! Come dressed however you feel most comfortable, but we hope to see people get creative. Flapper dresses, cloche hats, slick hair, boas, pinstripes, two-piece suits, bowler hats, and–especially since we will be at a golfing venue–vintage golfing attire! We will be impressed if someone shows up in their plus-fours.

HOW IT WORKS!

Our Spring Gala includes a silent auction, a live auction (with auctioneer and Burr parent Ian Kaspar!), games, raffles, and lots of good times. We will also have an online auction running from April 21st-April 28th with a ton of great items. Between the three auctions, there is a great range of services, products, entertainment, sporting events, and restaurants, so everyone is sure to find something that interests them!

When you arrive at 7:00 you will check in and receive a bidding card that you will need to keep with you at all times - this is how you can bid on items in both the silent and live auctions. Once you have your bid number and your drink from the bar, you can browse all of the amazing items we have on offer! Make sure to check out the multiple locations, the auction is spread out throughout our space. They are grouped by category, and each category will be closed out at posted times; so make sure you get your bids in and watch out for people outbidding you before the closing time!

In between bidding and mingling, we invite you to check out the ticketed events and parties we have on offer, buy a raffle ticket or three, and participate in one of the activities. This year we will have golfing available in three of the bays, with a distance contest to enter!

Once all of the silent bidding has ended, we will move on to the best part of the night: Ian Kaspar’s live auction! Select items will be kept aside for him to auction off––and some popular silent bidding items may turn to live––whether you participate or just spectate, it is always a super fun time. We’ve seen some pretty competitive bidding wars, some of which we still hear stories about today!

Once all the auctions have ended and the night comes to a close, you will take your bid card back to the check-in desk so that you can gather your winnings and check out. You are welcome to stay and keep partying at the cash bar until closing!
